Earlier this week, our #blossombus made an appearance at the National Cherry Blossom Festival First Day of Spring Kick-Off! While hearing the sounds of the Ballou Senior High School Marching Band, students conducted a creek clean-up and planted marigold flowers in the garden. This past Saturday, March 18, was #TransitDriverAppreciationDay! #DCCirculator would like to celebrate by recognizing our very own operator, Alletha Ballard. Alletha is DC Circulator’s longest standing female operator. Read more about what being a woman in transit means to Alletha below: "Being a woman in transit means that I am a follower of phenomenal leadership. My grandmother, Elsie Harper, drove a taxi in Washington, DC in 1957. My uncle, Earl Raynor, drove a bus for DC Transit Authority in 1979, and my aunt, Christian Payne drove a school bus for children with disabilities in 1976.
