Thank you for riding the DC Circulator. We are sorry that your article(s) have been misplaced. We will do our best to locate and reconnect you with your belongings under the following guidelines.

Reporting Lost & Found Items Online

For items lost within the DC Circulator system, our online Contact Us form is the easiest and most efficient way to submit a  report. Once you submit information for the lost item online, it will be entered into our tracking system for processing and will be accessible to our customer service personnel. Please note, our lost and found department may take up to  3 business days (72 hours) to search for your lost and found item. If we have a match or an item similar in description, we will contact you.

Reporting Lost & Found Items By Phone

To report your lost item by phone, contact our Customer Service office at 202-671-2020, Monday-Friday 8:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. excluding federal holidays. A customer service representative will create a record of your request in our tracking system. You will be contacted by email or phone if your item is located. You must be able to verify ownership of the item.

Pick Up Items

You will be contacted once an item is found to schedule pick up. The lost and found pickup location will be provided at this time. Lost and Found is open Monday through Friday 1 p.m. – 4 pm. The office is closed on weekends and federal holidays.

DC Circulator makes every attempt to return lost items to their rightful owners. Repeated calls or email to our lost and found could inhibit us from processing the search efficiently. If you are not contacted, it means that your item was not recovered yet.

Lost items are held for 30 days. After 30 days, unclaimed items are destroyed, disposed of or donated to charity per the RATP Dev- DC Circulator policy.

Please note: Any hazardous, dangerous, suspicious or items in poor condition, left on a bus will be disposed of. This includes:

  1. Personal hygiene products
  2. Any food items including items discovered in lost property, plastic bags, and travel cups.
  3. Clothes in poor condition.

The DC Circulator is not responsible for any items left by their owners on the bus. However, we will try to return any items found with the exception of the items mentioned above.
