Multiple Special Events and Halloween Activities to Affect DC Circulator Service
Friday October 27
Union Station-Navy Yard Metro and Potomac Ave Metro-Skyland Routes
The annual Hilloween Block Party will take place near the Eastern Market Metrorail station on Friday, October 27 from 3:30pm to 9:30pm. While no road closures for this event will affect the Union Station-Navy Yard Metro or Potomac Ave Metro-Skyland Circulator routes, riders may experience delays as congestion from nearby road closures may affect Circulator buses. Riders should allow for additional travel time on these routes.
Saturday October 28
National Mall Route
Road closures and staging areas for the Race to End HIV 5k will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Saturday, October 28. To accommodate the event, Circulator buses will use 4th Street to avoid road closures from opening to 12pm (noon).
The following stops will not be served between opening and 12pm (noon):
– Union Station (E St. NW / Columbus Circle)
– 3rd St between Jefferson Drive SW and Madison Drive NW
– Madison Dr. NW / 4th St.
Once race activities have finished and streets reopen around 12pm (noon), the route will begin normal service to all stops.
Tuesday October 31
Multiple planned events in the District may affect DC Circulator service on Halloween evening (October 31). There will be no detours on any of the six DC Circulator routes but high pedestrian activity, combined with regular Tuesday evening vehicle traffic, may affect travel and/or wait times for DC Circulator Riders.
