Service Alert: Extensive Service Delays due to George H. W. Bush State Funeral 12/3/18 and 12/5/18

DC Circulator riders should expect extensive delays in their travel time due to George H. W. Bush State Funeral on Monday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 5, 2018

Road closures starting Monday, December 3 at 3:15pm and extending into the early evening hours will impact all circulator routes.  The Union Station – Congress Heights route will experience extreme delays during the afternoon commute between 3pm-6pm due to closures of Suitland Parkway and service to Congress Heights Metro station might be interrupted for some time. The National Mall route may have impacts due to closures around Union Station. Delays are anticipated due to road closures in the vicinity of the Eastern Market – L’Enfant Plaza Route.

On Wednesday, December 5 the State Funeral will cause closures from the U.S. Capitol to the National Cathedral in the morning and then further closures for the return to Joint Base Andrews. The National Mall Route will begin operations at approximately 11am.  The Georgetown – Union Station, Woodley Park-McPherson Square and Dupont Circle – Rosslyn routes will experience severe delays during the 9:00am-11am rolling closures due to the motorcade traveling from the U.S. Capitol to the  Washington National Cathedral.  In the afternoon, the Union Station – Congress Heights route will experience extreme delays during the afternoon due to closures of Suitland Parkway and service to Congress Heights Metro station might be interrupted for some time.

Regular service on all routes will resume in the evening of Wednesday, December 5.
