Igmar Thomas is a New York City-based jazz trumpeter on the rise. He’s also a major hip-hop-head, and with his band the Cypher he mixes the two genres together into a fresh brew. His partner in crime is DJ Raydar Ellis, a rapper and turntablist who also teaches hip-hop at Berklee College of Music. Thomas, Ellis and the Cypher will perform this evening at CapitalBop’s Traveling Loft–taking place at THEARC–but here they appear in a free master class for youth.
