DC Circulator to Modify Service on the National Mall Route for the 96th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting on November 28, 2018

DC Circulator to Modify Service for National Christmas Tree Lighting Wednesday, November 28

The 96th National Christmas Tree Lighting will lead to road closures affecting DC Circulator service. Heavy congestion around the event area is likely to lead to delays and extended wait times for buses on the Georgetown-Union Station, Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square, and Dupont-Georgetown-Rosslyn routes. Customers should plan for additional travel time.

On the National Mall route, the following service changes will be effective on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 12:30 pm to closing at 7:00 pm. The National Mall route will run on a Modified Loop starting at 12:30 pm. This loop serves the museums along the National Mall, and the following Memorials: Jefferson, FDR and MLK. Jr. The bus then will turn back toward Union Station at Independence Avenue to resume stops at 12th Street, NW and Jefferson Drive (Stop #13). This loop will not serve the following stops along the Tidal Basin or near the Lincoln Memorial:

  • Lincoln Memorial Circle SW
  • Constitution Ave. NW / 21st
  • Constitution Ave. NW / 18th
  • 15th NW / Madison Dr.

Normal service on the National Mall route will resume on Thursday, November 29.
