Service Alert: National Mall Route to Modify Service for Girls on the Run 5K

DC Circulator service on the National Mall Route Sunday, June 2, 2019 will be modified due to a 5K Race

Sunday, June 2, 2019

Road closures and staging areas for the race for Girls on the Run 5K will impact the National route in multiple locations on Sunday June 2, 2019. Therefore, DC Circulator service will be modified until 12 pm (noon).

Once race activities have finished once the streets will reopen around 12 pm (noon), the route will begin normal service to all stops.

Missed bus stops:

  • # 1 E St NE at Columbus Circle NE
  • # 2 Madison Drive & 4th St NW
  • # 3 Madison Drive & 7th St NW
  • # 4 Madison Drive & 12th St NW
  • # 13 Jefferson Drive SW & 12th St SW
  • # 14 Jefferson Drive SW & 7th St SW
  • #15 3rd St NW near Madison Drive NW
  •

Service Alert: National Mall Route Service Changes for Memorial Day Weekend

DC Circulator  Service will be suspended on the National Mall Route due to Memorial Day Weekend Activities

May 26, 2019 and May 27, 2019

Road closures and rally areas for Rolling Thunder and Memorial Day Parade related events will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Sunday, May 26, 2019 and Monday, May 27, 2019. Therefore, DC Circulator will suspend service on the National Mall route all day on Sunday and Monday.

Additionally, traffic and other congestion related to these events and road closures could potentially cause delays on the Georgetown-Union Station and Dupont Circle – Georgetown-Rosslyn routes. Riders on all three routes should allow additional travel time Saturday through Monday.

Regular service on the National Mall route will resume on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

DC Circulator will Modify Service on the Congress Heights – Union Station Route

Sunday May 19, 2019

The 10K course will affect the DC Circulator Congress Heights-Union Station route from opening until 11:00 am. Therefore, the following service changes will begin Sunday, May 19 at the start of service:

Congress Heights Route: Detour – Service will detour from 7:00 am to 11:00 am or until traffic returns to normal.

Buses will not travel to Union Station and will not service the following stops (bus stops north of Pennsylvania Ave)

  • Mass Ave & Columbus Circle
  • 8th Street & East Capitol St

Buses will end service at Eastern Market area at the following stops before turning around to travel back to Congress Heights:

  • 8th Street and E Street SE

Service Alert: DC Circulator to Modify Service on National Mall Route This Weekend

DC Circulator service will be modified on the National Mall Route on Saturday 5/11 for the Semper Fi 5k.

Saturday 5/11

Road closures and staging areas for the Semper Fi 5k will impact the National Mall Route in multiple locations on Saturday, The race will start at 8:30 am – 10:00 am.

Once race activities have finished and streets reopen around 11:00 am, the route will resume regular service to all stops.

Impacted bus stops: No Service at the following bus stops # 6, # 7 and # 8.

Service Alert: National Mall Route to Delay Start for the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on 4/13

DC Circulator to Detour National Mall Route Service for the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 13

The Cherry Blossom Festival Parade will lead to road closures affecting the National Mall route. To accommodate the event, the following service changes will be in effect:

Road closures on Constitution Avenue, Madison Drive, and Jefferson Drive impact the National Mall route in multiple locations. Therefore, the National Mall route will begin service on Saturday, April 13 in a Modified Tidal Basin Loop using Independence Avenue to connect Union Station with the Tidal Basin until 2pm.

The following stops will not be served:

  • 2: Madison Dr. NW / 4th
  • 3: Madison Dr. NW / 7th
  • 4: Madison Dr. NW / 12th
  • 5: 15th SW / Jefferson Dr.
  • 9: Lincoln Memorial Circle SW
  • 10: Constitution Ave. NW / 21st
  • 11: Constitution Ave. NW / 18th
  • 12: 15th NW / Madison Dr.
  • 13: Jefferson Dr. SW / 12th
  • 14: Jefferson Dr. SW / 7th

Temporary stops will be in use along Independence Avenue during this detour. These stops will be located at existing Metrobus stops in both directions of travel at 4th St SW and 12th St SW.

Once parade activities have finished at 2pm, or as road closures allow, normal service will resume to all stops.

Service Changes for Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

DC Circulator to Modify Service on Multiple Routes this Saturday for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

Saturday, March 9

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon course will run on key parts of the National Mall Route and Woodley Park-Adams Morgan route.

The Marathon course will affect Circulator routes from opening until noon. Therefore, the following service changes will begin Saturday, March 9 at the start of service:

National Mall Route: Detour – Service will detour 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Independence Ave SW. Stops 9, 10, 11 and 12 will served at this time. Follow @dccirculator on Twitter for updates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Woodley Park-Adams Morgan: Detour – Service will detour from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm or once streets re-open to traffic after the conclusion of the marathon. Follow @dccirculator on Twitter for updates.

Buses will not travel into Adams Morgan and will not service the following stops (all stops north of Florida Ave):

  • Connecticut Ave NW / 24th St.
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd. NW
  • Mt. Pleasant St NW / Irving St.
  • Irving St NW / 14th St.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / 14th St.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / between 15th & 16th St.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd.
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd.
