Shuttle to ZooLights

November 23 – January 1 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays we offer special shuttle service to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo for ZooLights.
The bus operates a special loop between Woodley Park Metro Station and the Zoo’s Panda Plaza Bus Lot from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. This shuttle service mirrors our standard fares and payments policies with a base cost of just $1 per trip.

Bring your entire family to ZooLights, a free event at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo that includes live music performances, tasty winter treats and plenty of opportunities for holiday shopping. More than 500,000 environmentally friendly LED lights transform the Zoo into a winter wonderland complete with two dazzling laser light shows set to music. You can experience the magic of ZooLights between Friday, November 23, 2018 and Tuesday, January 1, 2019 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (except when closed for holidays Dec. 24, 25 and 31).  Don’t forget to share your #WinterWonderBus and #DCZooLights experience on social media!

Winter Wonder Bus Rider Tips

The Winter Wonder Bus will operate on its assigned route schedule as a part of regular DC Circulator service. All DC Circulator service and rider policies continue to apply to the Winter Wonder Bus. Please note, in order to remain on-time, the bus cannot hold at any stops for extended periods.

Here are some tips to ensure you can enjoy the magic of the Winter Wonder Bus this holiday season

  1. Plan ahead to ensure you’re at the right place at the right time to see or board the bus. Follow the route schedule on this page and check the Wonder Bus Whereabout Map to plan your trip accordingly.
  2. Please refrain from meddling with any on-bus decor. We hope that all riders get to experience a pleasant and festive bus with all decorations in tact.
  3. Taking photos of the bus or inside the bus is encouraged. However, interior pictures should be taken when the bus is stopped. Photo ops cannot interrupt passenger service. The best opportunities to take pictures are at our upcoming holiday events. Don’t’ forget to post your images online with #WinterWonderBus!
  4. Remember that the purpose of the Winter Wonder Bus is to spread cheer around the streets of DC. Kindness and politeness go a long way and we ask that of both our operators and our riders as we enter this new year!
