National Mall Route to Run in Museum Loop due to Road Closures Related to the DC Bike Ride
UPDATE: An earlier version of this post incorrectly identified the detour as occurring on Sunday. The correct date of the detour is Saturday, May 19. The post below has been edited to reflect this correction.
Road closures and staging areas for the DC Bike Ride will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Saturday, May 19 through the late afternoon period. To accommodate the event, the National Mall route will begin service on May 19 with buses running the Museum Loop. This loop serves the museums along the National Mall, but will not serve the following stops along the Tidal Basin or near the Lincoln Memorial:
- 15th St. SW / Jefferson Dr.
- 15th St. SW near Maine Ave.
- Basin Dr. SW near Independence Ave.
- Lincoln Memorial Circle SW
- Constitution Ave. NW / 21st St.
- Constitution Ave. NW / 18th St.
- 15th St. NW / Madison Dr.
Once event activities have finished and streets reopen around 2 pm (noon) the National Mall route will resume normal service to all stops.
