Service Alert: DC Circulator to Modify Service on WP-AM and NM for Multiple Weekend Events

Service Changes in Effect for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon on Saturday, March 10 and the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 11

SATURDAY, MARCH 10

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will lead to road closures affecting the National Mall and Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro routes. To accommodate the event, the following service changes will be in effect:

National Mall Route

Road closures required for the start of the full Marathon will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations. Therefore, DC Circulator will delay the start of service until 10am. Once race activities have finished and streets reopen around 10am, the route will begin normal service to all stops.

Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro Route

RockNRollMarathon_WPAM_0311_FloridaTurnback_201803010_SQRoad closures for the race will impact the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro route near Harvard Street NW. Therefore, buses will turn back at Florida Avenue NW between opening at 7am and 12pm (noon). The following stops will not be served between 7am and 12pm (noon):

 

 

Southbound

  • Connecticut Ave NW / 24th St.
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd. NW
  • Pleasant St NW / Irving St.
  • Irving St NW / 14th St.

Northbound

  • Columbia Rd. NW / 14th St.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / between 15th & 16th St.
  • Columbia Rd. NW / Ontario Rd.
  • Adams Mill Rd. NW / Columbia Rd.
  • Connecticut Ave. NW / 24th St.

Once race activities have finished at 12pm (noon), or as road closures allow, normal service will resume to all stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11

National Mall Route

Road closures and equipment staging areas for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Sunday, March 11. To accommodate these closures, the National Mall route will suspend service for the entire day on Sunday.

Regular service on the National Mall route will resume on Monday, March 12.
