Service Alert: DC Circulator to Modify Service on GT-US, WP-AM, and NM Routes this Weekend

DC Circulator to Modify Service on Multiple Routes This Weekend for Races and Events.

Saturday June 10

Georgetown-Union Station Route

Road closures for the Lawyers Have Heart 5k/10k will impact the Georgetown-Union Station route on Lower K Street on Saturday, June 10. To accommodate the event, starting at opening, buses travelling in the Westbound direction will not use K Street NW, proceeding instead along Pennsylvania Avenue and M Street NW. The following stops in the Westbound direction will not be served:

  • Lower K Street NW / 30th Street;
  • Lower K Street NW / Wisconsin Avenue;
  • Wisconsin Avenue NW / M Street

Once race activities have finished at 11am, or as road closures allow, normal service will resume to all stops.

Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-Mc Pherson Square Metro Route

Road closures for the Capital Pride Parade will impact the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro route on 14th Street NW on Saturday, June 10. To accommodate the event, the route will detour temporarily to 13th Street NW starting at 4 pm. [Click here for a map of the detour.]

The following stops will not be served during the detour:

  • 14th St. NW / Rhode Island Ave (Northbound)
  • 14th St. NW / U St. (Southbound)
  • 14th St. NW / P St. (Southbound)

Once parade activities have finished at 8pm, or as road closures allow, normal service will resume to all stops.

National Mall Route

Road closures and staging areas for the Purple Strides 5k race will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Saturday, June 10. To accommodate the event, Circulator buses will use 4th Street to avoid road closures from opening to 11am. [Click here for a map of the detour.]

The following stops will not be served between opening and 11am:

  • Union Station (E St. NW / Columbus Circle)
  • 3rd St between Jefferson Drive SW and Madison Drive NW
  • Madison Dr. NW / 4th St.

Once race activities have finished and streets reopen around 11am, the route will begin normal service to all stops.

 

Sunday June 11

Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro Route

Road closures and staging areas for the Equality March will impact the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square Metro route on I Street NW on Sunday, June 11. Therefore, starting at opening, buses will detour from I Street NW using K Street NW before heading back north on 14th Street NW. [Click here for a map of the detour.]

The following stop will not be served between opening and 11am:

  • I St. NW / 14th St.

Once parade activities have finished at 11am, or as road closures allow, normal service will resume to all stops.

National Mall Route

Road closures and staging areas for the Capital Pride Festival and the Equality March will impact the National Mall route in multiple locations on Sunday, June 11. Therefore, DC Circulator will delay the start of service until 2 pm. [Click here for a map of the detour.]

Once in service, Circulator buses will use 4th Street to avoid road closures from the event. The following stops will not be served between 2pm and closing:

  • Union Station (E St. NW / Columbus Circle)
  • 3rd St between Jefferson Drive SW and Madison Drive NW
  • Madison Dr. NW / 4th St.

Regular service to all stops on the route will resume on Monday, June 12.
