National Mall

The greenspace oasis that is home to America's treasures, stretching from the United States Capitol to the Potomac River.

Often referred to as “America’s Front Yard,” the National Mall is home to some of the District’s most iconic sites and well-known attractions—monuments, memorials and museums. The Circulator route on the National Mall provides access to 29 sports fields, 14 museums and 13 monuments and memorials. Some highlights include the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

In addition, the National Mall is home to some of the most amazing museums in the world including the National Gallery of Art and the following Smithsonian museums: National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Air and Space Museum and National Museum of the American Indian.
