Capitol Hill/Union Station

Capitol Hill, one of the nation's largest historic districts, is a quaint neighborhood located adjacent to the U.S. Capitol Building. The neighborhood is home to numerous bars and restaurants, many of which are located along 8th Street, known to locals as Barracks Row, and along Pennsylvania Avenue.

One of the most popular destinations on Capitol Hill is Eastern Market, a public market featuring local farmers and vendors selling fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood and other food. An outdoor flea market takes place year round on Sundays, featuring an array of treasures including arts and crafts, antiques and collectibles and imports from around the world.

Capitol Hill is located just a few blocks from Union Station, the District's transportation hub. With access to both the Virginia and Maryland commuter rail systems, Metrorail, Amtrak and numerous intercity bus lines, Union Station connects the District to destinations across the country. Capitol Hill and Union Station are accessible from the Georgetown-Union Station line and the Union Station-Navy Yard route.
